Biography of Iva Majoli
Iva Majoli is a Croatian tennis player who was born in Zagreb, Croatia, Yugoslavia (now Croatia) in 1977. She started playing tennis professionally at the age of 14 in 1991.

Early Career
Majoli made her first appearance in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament in 1992. She not only reached the main draw of the US Open but also secured her first victory in a Grand Slam by defeating African player Mariaan de Swardt.

French Open Triumph
At the age of 19, Majoli achieved a major milestone in her career by winning the French Open singles title in 1997. In the final, she defeated the highly favored Martina Hingis with her aggressive playing style. This victory came as a surprise to many as Hingis had not suffered such a clear defeat in a Grand Slam tournament before and had a 37-match winning streak.

Impressive Results
Majoli continued to achieve impressive results in the following years. In 1998, she reached the quarterfinals of the French Open. However, after that, she struggled to advance past the third round of any Grand Slam tournament. Her ranking steadily declined, reaching as low as 131st in 2003.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2002, Majoli had a resurgence in her career when she won the Family Circle Cup in Charleston, South Carolina, defeating Patty Schnyder. This victory helped her climb to 33rd in the rankings. Despite this success, Majoli was unable to regain her former glory and did not achieve any significant victories.
On June 12, 2004, Majoli officially announced her retirement from professional tennis. She later got engaged and married a local entrepreneur in 2006, with former colleagues Jennifer Capriati and Mary Pierce attending the wedding. Majoli gave birth to her daughter, Mia, in October 2006.
Post-Retirement
After retiring from tennis, Majoli participated in the Croatian version of the popular television show "Dancing with the Stars" in 2007. She also returned to tennis in a non-playing role and currently serves as the non-playing captain of the Croatian Fed Cup team.
