Biography of Jabrail Hasanov
Jabrail Hasanov, an Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler, was born on February 24, 1990, in the village of Suparybag, Astara District, Azerbaijani SSR. He began his education at a local school in 1997 and moved to Baku in 2001, where he continued his studies at the Republican Olympic Sports Lyceum from the 6th grade. It was at this lyceum that he started practicing freestyle wrestling under the guidance of Aslan Agayev, an honored coach, and master of international sports.
During his career, Hasanov achieved remarkable accomplishments in the field of wrestling. In 2009, he became the Junior World Champion in wrestling and went on to win the European Championships twice. In 2010, he also won a bronze medal at the World Championships. Additionally, he earned a silver medal at the XXVII Summer Universiade in Kazan in 2013.
In 2015, Hasanov represented Azerbaijan at the inaugural European Games held in Baku, where he won a bronze medal. The following year, he achieved another significant milestone by winning a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Outside of his wrestling career, Hasanov got married in 2013 and has two children, a son, and a daughter. In 2016, he began serving in the border troops of Azerbaijan, holding the rank of lieutenant. His idol and inspiration in the sport is Namik Abdullaev.
Through his dedication, talent, and numerous accomplishments, Jabrail Hasanov has become a renowned figure in the world of freestyle wrestling, representing Azerbaijan with pride and excellence.
