Charles Constant de Bons was a Swiss Protestant historian born in Geneva. He spent most of his life in the canton of Vaud, where he served primarily as a pastor.

De Bons authored numerous works on the religious history of his native region. These included a monograph on the Canton of Vaud and Switzerland from 1798 to 1815 ("Le Canton de Vaud et la Suisse de 1798 à 1815") and a biography of Pierre Viret, a prominent figure in the Swiss Reformation ("Pierre Viret, le réformateur vaudois").

De Bons' most significant work was "Histoire du mouvement religieux et ecclésiastique dans le canton de Vaud pendant la première moitié du XIXe siècle." This six-volume study, published over eleven years from 1870 to 1881 in Lausanne, received high praise from Lord Acton for its comprehensiveness.
