Collaborations and Success

Coviello also used his talents to assist other designers, creating headpieces for fashion shows by renowned designers such as Oscar de la Renta, Geoffrey Beene, Calvin Klein, and Todd Oldham. In 1991, he met Anna Sui, who needed an extraordinary hat for a fashion event. Coviello created a perfect headpiece for Sui, leading to a collaboration for her first runway show. They continued to work together, and in the following season, they launched the joint project 'the James Coviello for Anna Sui', which has been successful to this day.

Establishing His Own Brand

In 2000, Coviello organized his first solo fashion show, expanding his collection beyond hats to include ready-to-wear clothing and accessories. He held shows at Bryant Park for four seasons. Currently, Coviello creates three collections per year and distributes his products to 40 boutiques and retail chains worldwide. He has established collaborations with both American and international companies, such as 'Powder' from the UK, 'Jade Jakarta' from Indonesia, and 'Club 21' from Singapore.

Continued Success and Expansion

In 2003, Coviello presented a spring-summer collection with a playful and satirical style, featuring corsets and collarless jackets adorned with rich and vibrant embellishments. His unconventional approach to style cemented his reputation as an outstanding and innovative designer. The Japanese-Chinese licensee 'Itokin' opened two new 'James Coviello' boutiques in Tokyo and Osaka in 2003. Currently, there are eight 'James Coviello' stores throughout Japan, with plans to open at least ten more in the same year.

Collaboration with 'Spiegel Catalog'

In 2003, Coviello began developing a collection for 'Spiegel Catalog'. This new collection, which includes knitted and woven pieces, will be exclusively sold through the 'Big Book' projects of 'Spiegel', which was relaunched in 2004. Despite the difference in price compared to his previous collections, Coviello's signature style remains intact, offering favorable prices for customers. The collaboration with 'Spiegel' also includes home decorations.
