Jane Lynch is a renowned American writer, actress, and singer, known for her roles in the comedies "Best in Show" by Christopher Guest and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" by Judd Apatow. She was born on July 14, 1960, in Dolton, Illinois. Lynch earned a Bachelor's degree in Theater from Illinois State University. After graduating, Jane joined the comedy troupe "The Second City," with whom she frequently went on tour. She also portrayed Carol Brady in "The Real Live Brady Bunch" and wrote the screenplay for the film "Oh Sister, My Sister," in which she played the lead role.

In 2000, Lynch gained recognition for her portrayal of lesbian character Christy Cummings in "Best in Show." Lynch has had numerous television appearances, including leading roles in the series "MDs" (2002) alongside John Hannah and William Fichtner.
