Biography of Jasmuheen

Australia's Motivational Speaker and Personal Trainer
Early Life and Influences

Jasmuheen, born Ellen Greve, was born in 1957 in New South Wales, Australia. Her parents were Norwegian immigrants who settled in Australia after World War II. From a young age, Jasmuheen had no interest in food and started her journey towards vegetarianism and a holistic lifestyle. By 1972, she had transitioned to a vegetarian diet and by 1974, she had overcome her addiction to sweets. During the mid-1970s, Jasmuheen began exploring yoga, Eastern philosophies, and meditation, as well as experimenting with fasting.

Motherhood and Health Advocacy

In 1976, Jasmuheen gave birth to her first daughter and practiced a raw food diet during her pregnancy. She quickly recovered and regained her health after giving birth. Two years later, in 1978, she had her second daughter and resumed eating cooked food after the birth. Throughout the period of 1978-1992, Jasmuheen maintained a strict vegetarian diet, with 60-70% of her food being raw. She also engaged in various sports activities such as horseback riding, swimming, running, dancing, and weightlifting. In 1984, she became a single mother, raising her children while pursuing her career in financial consulting.

Awakening and Transformation

Jasmuheen's interest in esoteric subjects continued to grow, and by the 1990s, she realized that her true calling was not in the financial industry. During this time, she began exploring liquid diets, experiencing periods of fasting and only consuming liquids. It was during these moments that she believed she was nourished by prana, or universal life force. She referred to this source as the "Source."

Becoming a Leader

After becoming a trainer, Jasmuheen changed her name to Jasmuheen, which translates to "fragrance of eternity." Today, Jasmuheen is one of the most renowned leaders in the field of pranic nourishment. She has tens of thousands of followers and is the author of several books on personal growth and pranic living. Jasmuheen is considered an authority in the field of nutrition, or rather the absence of it.

Controversies and Recognition

Jasmuheen's journey has not been without challenges. During one experiment, she was observed and monitored while locked in a hotel room, and her health deteriorated after two days of total fasting and dehydration. She attributed her ill health to the polluted air in the hotel. Despite this setback, Jasmuheen claimed to feel great, but medical professionals deemed it unsafe to continue the experiment and stopped it. Three of Jasmuheen's followers have died in their pursuit of pranic nourishment, although she denies any responsibility.

Jasmuheen has received various awards, some in jest, for her beliefs and practices. In 2000, she was awarded the "Bent Spoon Award" for pseudoscientific practices. Later that year, she received the Ig Nobel Prize for her book "Pranic Nourishment - Living on Light," which encouraged people to stop eating. Despite the controversies and criticisms, Jasmuheen continues to enjoy fame as one of the leaders of pranic nourishment. She claims to live off the energy of the Source and has no need for earthly food.
