Early Life and Musical EducationPierre Pierlot Cappezzali, a renowned French oboist, embarked on his musical journey at age 9, honing his skills on the piano. Inspired by the mesmerizing performances of Antonio Vivaldi's concertos played by Pierre Pierlot, he transitioned to the oboe at 14. Cappezzali pursued his studies at the prestigious Schola Cantorum in Paris and the Versailles Conservatory.
Orchestral Career and Recognition
In 1979, Cappezzali secured his position as the first oboist with the Orchestre Lamoureux. Five years later, he joined the prestigious Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra. His exceptional talent earned him the Second Prize at the Prague Spring festival in 1986.
Pedagogy and Collaborations
Beyond his orchestral endeavors, Cappezzali has also dedicated himself to pedagogy. He served as an assistant to Maurice Bourgue at the Paris Conservatory from 1988 to 1998. Since 1998, he has held the esteemed position of professor at the Lyon Conservatory. Since 1992, Cappezzali has collaborated with the renowned instrument maker Buffet-Crampon to test and develop innovative oboes.
