Early Life and EducationJemaine Clement was born on January 10, 1974, in Masterton, New Zealand. His mother, a member of the Māori tribe, raised him and his two brothers as a single parent. Clement's father, who worked as a refrigeration mechanic, left the family due to alcohol addiction. However, years later, they reconnected and now share a close relationship.
Comedy Beginnings and "Flight of the Conchords"
Clement developed a passion for comedy as a child. He attended Makoura College and later studied drama and film at Victoria University of Wellington. During his university years, he met Taika Waititi and Bret McKenzie, with whom he co-founded the comedy duo and show "Flight of the Conchords." The show garnered international acclaim, winning a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album.
Film Career
Clement's film career began in New Zealand, but he soon made his mark in Hollywood. He starred in films such as "Dinner for Schmucks" and "Men in Black 3," where he played the primary antagonist, Boris the Animal.
