Jennifer Kaido: Olympic Rower
Jennifer Kaido, an American rower, was born on March 14, 1981, in West Leyden, New Jersey. She currently resides in Princeton.
Early Life and Education
Kaido's passion for rowing was sparked during her time at the University of New York at Cobleskill, where she primarily played volleyball. She transitioned to Cornell University, where she dedicated herself to the sport, honing her skills while simultaneously working as a veterinarian at a local clinic.
National and International Achievements
As a multi-time participant in the United States National Team, Kaido boasts an impressive record. Notably, she secured second place in the women's quadruple sculls at the 2005 LUC Rowing World Cup in Lucerne. In the women's pair, she earned second place at the 2007 FISA World Championships. Additionally, she achieved fifth and fourth place finishes at the 2007 FISA World Championships in Lucerne and Linz, respectively. Kaido's previous international triumphs include a victory in the women's quadruple sculls at the 2004 Canadian Henley Regatta.
Olympic Journey
Despite her remarkable achievements, Kaido's Olympic dreams had not been realized until the 2008 Beijing Games. She narrowly missed qualifying for the 2004 Athens Olympics, placing third in the women's quadruple sculls trials.
