Biography of Jennifer El

Jennifer El is an American actress born on December 12, 1969, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA. She comes from a family with a background in the arts - her father, John El, was a writer, and her mother, Rosemary Harris, was an actress. Growing up, Jennifer was exposed to her mother's acting career, which likely influenced her own decision to pursue acting. She attended nearly twenty different schools while traveling with her mother, which also had a significant impact on her upbringing.

Early Career

Jennifer received her training in acting at the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Drama School in London. In 1992, she was invited by Peter Hall to play Calypso in the adaptation of Mary Wesley's novel "The Camomile Lawn." This marked the beginning of her successful acting career. Later that year, El landed a role in the adventure series "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles." She also played the role of Tamsin in the telefilm "Mickey Love." In 1994, El appeared in several telefilms, including "La récréation," "Self Catering," and "Pleasure." That same year, she portrayed Cynthia Powell in the drama "Backbeat," which depicted the story of Stuart Sutcliffe, a close friend of John Lennon, and his pursuit of becoming an artist, as well as his love and death.

Personal Life

Jennifer El is currently married to writer Michael Ryan, and she considers herself incredibly happy. They have two children together, George and Tallulah. She is currently appearing in the television series "Game of Thrones," set to be released in 2010.
