Early Life and CareerJevett Adams was born in South Hero, Vermont. He embarked on the California Gold Rush in his early years, working in underground mines and eventually opening up his own store.
Political Career
In 1864, Adams relocated to Nevada. His political career culminated in 1883 when he was elected as the fourth governor of the state, serving until 1887. During his term, he focused on developing Nevada's infrastructure and economy.
Post-Governorship and Later Life
After his governorship, Adams was appointed as the superintendent of the Carson City Mint in Nevada. He subsequently moved to San Francisco, California, in 1915, where he passed away on June 18, 1920. His legacy continues as a pivotal figure in Nevada's history.
