Jim Clements, a 100-year-old British man from Harlow, Essex, holds the title of the World's Oldest Office Manager. His working career began at the age of 14, and he officially retired in 1978. However, Jim's retirement was not like that of his peers. While most of them were tending to their gardens and enjoying leisurely activities, Jim felt a strong desire to continue working. Despite being 66 years old, he still had plenty of energy to give. So, without hesitation, Jim found himself a new job as an office manager. Initially, he saw it as a temporary position, but as the saying goes, "nothing is more permanent than temporary." Little did he know that this temporary job would last for 34 years and counting.

Jim remains dedicated to his work and has no plans of retiring anytime soon. He loves his job, as it allows him to feel youthful and active. His responsibilities include organizing documents, photocopying, answering phone calls, and, most importantly, brewing delicious tea for his colleagues. Jim's dedication and passion for his work have earned him the recognition of being the World's Oldest Office Manager when he turned 100 years old.
A Life of Love and Family
Jim celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by his family. His wife, Gladys, passed away 19 years ago, after a long and fulfilling life together. They got married in 1944, during World War II, while both working at a torpedo factory for submarines. They had two children, and today, Jim is proud to have grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His colleagues in the office have become like a second family to him. Jim praises them, saying, "The ladies in the office are simply wonderful. They take care of me and look after me." His colleagues wholeheartedly agree, noting that Jim doesn't look or act like a typical 100-year-old. If anything, they would place him closer to 80 years old. Jim Clements continues to serve in his new role as the World's Oldest Office Worker, with a remarkable work history spanning 86 years.
