Jimmy Durmaz, Swedish Football Prodigy

Jimmy Durmaz is a Swedish professional footballer who currently plies his trade as a winger for Ligue 1 club Toulouse and the Sweden national team. He gained prominence after participating in the 2016 UEFA European Championship.

Early Life and Career

Born into an Assyrian family, Durmaz honed his skills at Forward before joining Malmö FF in 2008. On July 14, he made his Allsvenskan debut against Hammarby and went on to score his first goal for the club on November 3. Malmö emerged as Swedish champions in 2010.

Domestic Career

In 2012, Durmaz answered the call of his ethnic homeland and joined Turkish Süper Lig side Gençlerbirliği. He made his Turkish debut against Antalyaspor in August and notched his first goal for the team in September against Kayserispor.

Durmaz then moved to the Greek Super League with Olympiacos in 2014. After debuting against Panetolikos, he scored his first goal against OFI. His performances played a pivotal role in Olympiacos' 2015 double, securing the league title and the Greek Cup.

On August 20, 2016, Durmaz signed with French club Toulouse. He marked his Ligue 1 debut against Lille and followed it up with his first goal against Paris Saint-Germain three days later.

International Career

Durmaz's international debut came in 2011 in a friendly against Cyprus. He scored his maiden goal for Sweden against Qatar in 2012. In the summer of 2016, he was selected for the Swedish squad that competed in the European Championship in France. He featured in matches against Italy and Belgium.
