Born in Chicago on January 31, 1921, John Agar emerged as a prominent American actor. His parents, John Agar Sr. and Lillian Rogers, had no artistic background, but this did not deter young John from pursuing his passion for theater.

Agar displayed a remarkable talent for conveying emotions and intentions through performance. He attended the Harvard School for Boys, Chicago Academy, and Pawling Preparatory School, where he honed his skills. In 1942, following his father's passing, the family relocated to Los Angeles.

Military Service and Marriage

During World War II, Agar served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Forces until his discharge in 1946. In 1945, he married actress Shirley Temple, with whom he had one daughter, Susan.

Second Marriage and Later Life

In 1950, Agar divorced Temple and married Lorettha Barnett Combs. Their union lasted until her passing in 2000. They had two sons, Agar Martyn and John Agar III. On April 7, 2002, John Agar passed away from emphysema in Burbank, California.
