Biography of John Rich

John Rich (born January 7, 1974) is an American country artist. He grew up in Dixon County, Tennessee, where he completed his schooling. After graduating, he moved to Nashville and worked with the company 'Opryland USA singing'. However, his main dream was to pursue a professional career as part of a band.

Lonestar Years

After some time, Rich joined the band 'Lonestar', which was known at the time as 'Texasee'. In the group, Rich played bass guitar and occasionally filled in as lead vocalist for Richie McDonald. He co-wrote two singles for the band, 'Come Cryin' to Me' and 'Say When', which became some of the group's best works. However, in January 1998, Rich was fired from the band.

Solo Career and Big & Rich

Following his departure from 'Lonestar', Rich embarked on a solo career under the label 'BNA Records', which was the same label as 'Lonestar'. He released two singles and an album titled 'Underneath the Same Moon', although its release was delayed until 2006.

In 2003, Rich formed the duo 'Big & Rich' with William 'Big Kenny' Alphin. Together, they released three albums, 'Horse of a Different Color' (2004), 'Comin' to Your City' (2005), and 'Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace' (2007). The duo achieved success with ten charting singles, including the hit song 'Lost in This Moment'.

Solo Success and Collaborations

During the hiatus of 'Big & Rich' in 2007, Rich worked on his second solo album, 'Son of a Preacher Man'. The album featured two successful singles.
