Early Life and Education

Flynn was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, the son of actor and singer Eric Flynn and his second wife, Caroline Forbes. He has three half-siblings from his father's previous marriage, including actors Jerome and Daniel Flynn. At the age of two, Flynn moved with his family to the United Kingdom.

His musical journey began with a scholarship at Pilgrims' School, where he sang in the chapel choir and learned to play the violin and trumpet. He later taught himself the guitar and received a second scholarship to Bedales School.

Acting and Music Career

Flynn studied acting at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. He made his acting debut in the television series "Casualty" and has since appeared in numerous stage and screen productions, including "Memento" and "Genius."

He rose to musical prominence as the lead singer and songwriter of the English folk-rock band Johnny Flynn & the Sussex Wit. Their debut album, "A Larum," was released in 2012 and was followed by three more critically acclaimed albums.

Personal Life

In 2011, Flynn married Beatrice Minnis. They have two children together.
