A Highland Rescue by the Hogwarts Express
A family stranded in the Scottish Highlands was rescued by the 'Hogwarts Express', a train once used in the filming of the world-renowned Harry Potter movies.
The Stranded Family
John and Helen Cluett and their four young children were vacationing in a remote cottage in Lochaber, unaware that their idyllic getaway would turn into an adventure. Rising floodwaters had swept away the canoe they used to reach their cabin, leaving them with a treacherous trek through boggy terrain to return to their car.
The Unconventional Rescue
Faced with a daunting journey, the Cluetts turned to the police for advice. Surprisingly, the officers arranged for the 'Hogwarts Express', now known as the Jacobite, to make an unscheduled stop near the family's cabin.
The Hogwarts Express to the Rescue
As the Cluetts gathered their belongings, the Jacobite approached, its steam engine chugging. They dashed towards the track, their bags bouncing with excitement.
A Magical Adventure
Despite the loss of their canoe, the children's spirits soared at the sight of the iconic train. "It filled them with a genuine feeling of excitement and joy," said John.
A Smooth Departure
The family disembarked at the next stop, Lochailort, where John secured a ride back to their car. "It was certainly an adventure," he remarked. "Thanks to everyone who helped us."
The Search for the Canoe
While the Cluetts cherish their extraordinary rescue, they remain hopeful of recovering their canoe. "I imagine it's still floating somewhere in the loch," said John. "If you see a large red canoe, we'd be grateful if you let us know. It would make our story even more extraordinary."
