Youth and EducationJosé Asevedo Caro, renowned historian and writer from Pichilemu, was born into a large family of 12 siblings. He spent his childhood in Pichilemu and later pursued his education at Los Hermanos Maristas in San Fernando and at the seminary in Santiago.

Final Days
Hospitalization and FarewellIn November 2009, Asevedo was hospitalized in Pichilemu at the age of 88. After three days of battling pneumonia, he passed away.
Before his burial on November 25, 2009, Asevedo's body lay in state at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Pichilemu. He was laid to rest in the city's cemetery, a testament to the love and respect bestowed upon him by his community.
