Early Career and Political AffiliationsManuel Gutiérrez de la Concha, known as the Marquis de la Habana, was a renowned Spanish general and statesman. The brother of Manuel Gutiérrez de la Concha, he held diverse political positions during Queen Isabella's reign, ranging from opposition to high-ranking roles such as Ambassador to Paris, Minister of War, and Minister of Colonies.
Formation and Resignation of Government
In 1868, following the uprising in Cadiz, Concha formed a new government after the resignation of González Bravo. However, due to the defeat of his troops in Andalusia, he resigned as Prime Minister within 10 days.
Later Roles and Legacy
From 1872 to 1875, Concha served as Captain-General of Cuba. He subsequently became President of the Senate and Commander of the Northern Spanish Army. Concha's contributions to Spanish military and political affairs left a lasting impact on the nation.
