Breakthrough at Real Valladolid
In 1988, Caminero joined Real Valladolid, where he quickly established himself as a vital member of the team. Over three seasons, he guided the club back to La Liga after their relegation.
Triumph with Atlético Madrid
In 1993, Caminero's career took a significant leap when he signed for Atlético Madrid. The following years marked the pinnacle of his playing career. In the 1995/96 season, Atlético Madrid won both the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey, with Caminero being named Spanish Footballer of the Year by both El Pais and Don Balon.
Return to Valladolid
After five successful years at Atlético Madrid, Caminero returned to Valladolid in 1998, where he spent another six seasons. He helped the team once again secure promotion to La Liga, but retired from professional football in 2004 when Valladolid was relegated.
International Career
