Stefan Petrucha Ganem
Early Life and EducationStefan Petrucha Ganem was born in 1970 in Wilmington, Delaware. From a young age, he developed a passion for science fiction. In 1986, he became the youngest attendee of the Clarion Writers Workshop, where he published his first professional short story, "The Painted Man," in the anthology Full Spectrum II.

College Years and ScholarshipGanem pursued a degree in psychology at Swarthmore, a Quaker liberal arts college near Philadelphia. While there, he collaborated with fellow Swarthmore alumnus and novelist Jon Cohen on a crossover thriller screenplay about a team of vampire heart surgeons.

Early Career in ScreenwritingAfter graduating from Swarthmore, Ganem worked on several screenplays independently. In 1997, New Line Cinema acquired his screenplay for the film Black Ice. This prompted him to focus entirely on screenwriting.

Transition to Novel WritingGanem's curiosity about the paranormal led him to write his first novel, Innamorata, in 2002. The novel follows Martin Finch, a young Harvard graduate who becomes entangled in a paranormal investigation by the Scientific American magazine in the 1920s.

Literary and Cinematic WorksThroughout his career, Ganem's writing has been intertwined with the realm of the fantastic. His debut short story, "The Painted Man," cemented his place as a promising science fiction writer. Innamorata, his only novel to date, explores themes of the supernatural and the human experience. In addition to his literary endeavors, Ganem has written numerous screenplays, including the 2007 film Wind Chilland the upcoming Eliza Graves, based on an Edgar Allan Poe short story and produced by Mel Gibson.
