Biography of Giovanni Ferrari

Giovanni Ferrari, a renowned football player, made his debut in Italian football in 1927 at a local club when he was not even twenty years old. He played as a left inside forward for the Italian national team, which won the World Cup in 1934. Astonishingly, Ferrari and Giuseppe Meazza were the only two players who managed to replicate this triumph in France in 1938. Both of them made their national team debut in the same match on February 9, 1930, in Rome against Switzerland (the match ended with a 4-2 victory for Italy).

During that time, Ferrari played for "Alexandria" but soon moved to "Juventus," where he set a record by becoming the country's champion five times in a row. He played 160 matches for the black and white team, scoring 67 goals. Later, he became the holder of the "eternal" Italian record by winning the "scudetto" with "Ambrosiana-Inter" in 1938 and 1940, as well as with "Bologna" in 1941.

Ferrari scored 14 goals in 44 matches for the national team. He also served as the head coach of the Italian national team during the 1962 World Cup in Chile.
