American Vampire Enthusiast

Julia Caples, a resident of Pennsylvania, is not your typical fan of the pale profile of Robert Pattinson. However, she is much closer to the vampire theme than the average "Twihard." In fact, Caples considers herself a more "real" vampire than Edward Cullen, as she consumes human blood in quite impressive quantities.

The Awakening

Caples' vampire inclinations awakened at the age of 15 during her first kiss. Unexpectedly, she had the desire to bite her beloved. Caples fulfilled her desire, deriving much pleasure from it, and forever repelling the mentioned boy. Many vampire portrayals seemed romantic in a certain sense, with Anne Rice being credited with seriously developing this tendency and Stephenie Meyer taking it to a certain absurdity. Some argue that it was through Meyer's efforts that vampires became popular again, to the point of disgust.

Embracing the Lifestyle

Caples became actively involved in consuming human blood after starting a relationship with a man named Donald, who, like Julia, was a passionate fan of gothic culture. For a long time, Caples indulged in the "red liquid" with pleasure. However, the birth of her son, Alexi, made her reduce her consumption and switch to something more harmless, consuming ordinary plasma for a while. Later, her secret desires took over again.

A Modern Vampire

Currently, Caples regularly seeks new "donors" online, mostly belonging to the recently proliferating "vampire" communities. Using a specially sterilized knife as part of a carefully planned ritual, Julia obtains the drink that is so dear to her heart. However, her unique diet does not appeal to all of her relatives. Her 24-year-old daughter finds her mother's obsession utterly repulsive and fears that consuming blood may lead to serious health problems. Medical professionals also support her daughter's concerns, as they believe that this diet can easily introduce unpleasant infections into Caples' body. Nevertheless, Caples pays close attention to the hygienic aspects of her practice and even requires medical certificates from her donors.

A Source of Strength and Youth

According to Caples herself, regular consumption of others' blood gives her strength and youth. She has no intention of giving up this practice in the near future.
