Biography of Julian McMahon
Julian McMahon is an Australian actor known for his versatile talent, ruggedly handsome looks, and Australian accent that comes and goes at his will. He first gained recognition in the United States after appearing in the series "Another World" on NBC. McMahon captivated millions of viewers with his role as Detective Grant in "Profiler" (NBC, 1996-2000) and reached the peak of his fame after playing the greedy, sex-obsessed and scandalous plastic surgeon Christian Troy in the provocative series "Nip/Tuck" (F/X, since 2003).

Early Life and Career
Julian was born into the family of former Australian Prime Minister Sir William McMahon and was the second of three children. After school, he enrolled at the University of Sydney, where he gained fame not as a diligent law student, but as an incredible heartthrob. So, after university, McMahon decided to pursue a career in the modeling business – and he was not mistaken. Within three years, he became the most sought-after European model.

In the early 1990s, McMahon returned to his homeland with significant fame, mainly due to his Levi Strauss advertisement that aired on television worldwide and won numerous awards. Ending his career in the modeling industry, it was only logical for him to try his hand at acting, and that's exactly what Julian did. He started with the highly popular Australian series "Home and Away" (Seven Network). Soon, in 1992, he made his film debut in the movie "Wet and Wild Summer!" However, by the time the film was released, the actor was already in New York, where he began filming the series "Another World" on NBC.

Rise to Fame
In 1994, Julian moved to Los Angeles, where he spent some time performing in theatre and starring in low-budget films like "Magenta" in 1996. However, it was not his acting roles that brought him maximum fame but rather his two-year marriage to Dannii Minogue, the sister of famous singer Kylie Minogue. Later, he landed the role of Detective John Grant in the series "Profiler," which made him quite well-known. After the series ended, legendary producer Aaron Spelling immediately invited him to join "Charmed" as the half-demon Cole Turner. However, after a couple of seasons, the role became tiresome for Julian, and he began looking for something new. The perfect opportunity came after reading the script for the plastic surgery drama series "Nip/Tuck." McMahon aggressively pursued the producers and, after sending them a recording of his audition, outshined all possible competitors for the role of Dr. Christian Troy. He brought charm, sexuality, grandeur, and, most importantly, complete believability to the character, making a significant contribution to the show's popularity and his own rise to fame.

Recent Work and Personal Life
In addition to his television career, McMahon also appeared in the film "Fantastic Four" as the supervillain opposing the four superheroes. In 2007, he starred alongside Sandra Bullock in the movie "Premonition" and later reprised his role as the villain in the sequel "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" (2007). Some of his other recent works include the film "Meet Market" (2008), with a planned release in 2011 for the film "Aroma of Apples."
Julian McMahon has been married twice, first to Dannii Minogue from 1992 to 1993, and then to Brooke Burns from 1999 to 2000. He has a daughter named Madison Elizabeth McMahon from his second marriage. From 2001, the actor dated Shannon Doherty, whom he met during the filming of "Charmed." However, these relationships have also come to an end.
