Biography of Justin Spring

Justin Spring was born on March 11, 1984 in Houston, Texas. He is a professional American athlete, competing in the sport of gymnastics. Justin had an eventful childhood, growing up in a family with his renowned astronaut father, Sherwood Spring. In 1985, his father went to space on the Atlantis shuttle, spending approximately 65 hours in space, including 12 hours in open space. Sherwood Spring also participated in several significant military operations in Vietnam, for which he received the "Distinguished Service Medal" and "Distinguished Flying Cross" awards. Sherwood Spring was always proud of his son, instilling in Justin a sense of duty and discipline from a young age.

During his school years, Justin began to dedicate a lot of time to gymnastics, as he was deeply passionate about the sport. In 2006, he obtained a higher education degree in psychology from the University of Illinois. Currently, Justin Spring enjoys spending the majority of his time at home with his family in Champaign, Illinois. In addition to competing and training, he also serves as an assistant coach for the men's university gymnastics team in Illinois.

However, Justin has faced numerous setbacks in his career. In 2007, he suffered a knee injury during a national championship, which significantly impacted his performance as he prepared for the Olympic Games in Beijing. He had to take a break from training for several months. Furthermore, in early 2008, he injured his ankle, which sidelined him from training for several weeks. Justin Spring constantly risks his health in order to execute difficult maneuvers. Due to his self-assurance, he has undergone six surgeries to repair different parts of his body.
