Biography of Justine Bateman
Early Life and CareerJustine Tanya Bateman, an American actress, writer, and producer, was born on February 19, 1966, in Rye, New York. Her parents were Victoria Elizabeth, a former flight attendant from England, and Kent Bateman, an acting coach, writer, and director. Justine has a younger brother, actor Jason Bateman. She graduated from Taft High School in California in 1984.

Rise to Fame
Justine gained fame for her role as Mallory Keaton in the sitcom "Family Ties" from 1982 to 1989. Her portrayal of the carefree yet lovable Mallory earned her two Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations. Her on-screen brother, Alex P. Keaton, was played by Michael J. Fox. Justine also appeared in various TV shows and films during this time, including episodes of "Tales from the Darkside" and as a host on "Saturday Night Live." In 1988, she starred in the film "Satisfaction," alongside Julia Roberts and Liam Neeson.

Career Break and Other Ventures
Following her success in the entertainment industry, Justine took a break and opened her clothing company called "Justine Bateman Designs" in 2000. The company specialized in unique handmade knitwear and was sold in popular stores such as BendelsNY, Saks, and Fred Segal. She managed the business until 2003. Justine then returned to television, starring in the miniseries "Out of Order" alongside Eric Stoltz, Felicity Huffman, and Bill Macy.
