Biography of Kakhaber Tskhadadze
Kakhaber Tskhadadze was a Soviet and Georgian football player and defender. He was born on December 7, 1973, in Tbilisi, Georgia. Tskhadadze was known for his performances in various clubs, including "Dinamo" Tbilisi in the Soviet Union championship, Moscow's "Spartak" and "Dinamo" in the Russian championship, "Eintracht" Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, and "Manchester City".
Playing Career
Tskhadadze's football career was marred by severe injuries, including a fractured leg and torn knee ligaments. Despite these setbacks, he continued to play and eventually retired at the age of 36 while playing for the Russian first division club "Anzhi" Makhachkala.
Tskhadadze represented the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) team in 1992 and the Georgian national team from 1991 to 1998. He was a part of the CIS team that participated in the 1992 European Championship. Tskhadadze also made history as the first captain of the Georgian national team.
Coaching Career
After retiring from playing in 2004, Tskhadadze focused solely on his coaching career. He took charge of Georgian clubs "Dinamo" Tbilisi and "Sioni" Bolnisi. With both clubs, he achieved success, winning the Georgian championship in the 2004/2005 season with "Dinamo" and in the 2005/2006 season with "Sioni". In addition, Tskhadadze was named the Coach of the Season after winning the second championship.
Disciplinary Issues
However, Tskhadadze faced disciplinary issues during his coaching career. In September 2006, he was initially suspended for five matches and later barred from coaching until May 31, 2007, by the disciplinary-technical committee of the Football Federation of Georgia. This was a result of his misconduct during a match in the Georgian championship. Tskhadadze had previously received a five-match suspension for his lack of self-control. He was also involved in a physical altercation with the head coach of "Baku" Beyukaga Hajiyev during a match in the qualifying round of the 2006/2007 Champions League. As a consequence, Tskhadadze was banned from the touchline and had to watch the return match from the stands. Despite the suspension, he remained with "Sioni" in an administrative role.
Later Career
In January 2008, Tskhadadze signed a six-month contract with the Azerbaijani club "Standard" (Baku). He took charge of the team during the second half of the Azerbaijan championship.
Overall, Kakhaber Tskhadadze had a successful playing career, representing both the Soviet Union and Georgia, and later transitioning to coaching after retirement. Despite facing disciplinary issues, his contributions to Georgian football will always be remembered.
