Early Life and Education

Born in Los Gatos, California, Keri Byron graduated from Los Gatos High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Sculpture and Film with magna cum laude honors from San Francisco State University in May 1998.

Career Pre-"MythBusters"

After graduating, Byron embarked on multi-day hiking expeditions in South Asia, particularly the Himalayas. She also participated in various art projects and worked as an undercover employee in a retail establishment, monitoring prices and stock of martini olives and other commodities.

"MythBusters" and Media Career

Byron gained recognition as a member of the "Junior MythBusters" team on the popular television series "MythBusters," alongside Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara. She assisted lead hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman in testing and debunking urban legends, rumors, and misconceptions.

Notable Contributions

Byron's memorable debut on the show involved creating a mold of her buttocks for a myth test. She later joked that she was hired "for her ass." Throughout the show's run, she played an increasingly prominent role, showcasing her natural curiosity and ability in front of the camera.

Artistic Endeavors

Beyond "MythBusters," Byron maintains a passion for fine art and sculpting. She believes in creating art daily to prevent herself from "going insane." Her preferred materials include polymer clay, found objects, gouache, wood, and metal.

Inspiration and Artistic Perspective

Byron draws inspiration from contemporary artists recognized by the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA). She prefers thoughtful viewers and aims to provoke introspection with her art.

Personal Life

Byron is married to Paul Urich and gave birth to a daughter, Stella Ruby, on June 28, 2009.
