Early Career and Rise in Latvia
Kaspars Gorkšs, a Latvian footballer, began his professional career in 1998 with Latvian club Audas. Over five years, he made 77 appearances, scoring nine goals. In 2003, he moved to Swedish side Östers after impressing in a youth international match between Latvia and Sweden. He later played for Assyriska Föreningen in 2005.
Championship Victory and Move to England
In 2006, Gorkšs returned to Latvia and joined Ventspils. He helped the team secure the Latvian championship title that year. In 2007, he made the move to England, initially signing with Blackpool, which was partly owned by Latvian businessman Valeri Belokon. He later joined Queens Park Rangers from 2008 to 2011, before moving to Reading in August 2011.
Later Career and Return to Latvia
In December 2014, Gorkšs signed a contract with Colchester United. In 2015, he played for Dukla Prague in the Czech Republic before returning to Latvia in 2016 to join FK Liepāja until the end of the season.
International Career
Since 2005, Gorkšs has been a key defender for the Latvian national team, making 71 appearances and scoring five goals.
