Early Life and Education
Kata Katalin Cseh was born on 29th June 1988 in Montreal, Canada. She attended Ferenc Toldy High School in Budapest before completing her medical degree at Semmelweis University as an obstetrician-gynaecologist. In 2015, she obtained a master's degree in health economics, policy, and law from Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
Political Activism
Involvement with LiFE and Youth MovementCseh's political involvement began with the Liberal Youth Union (LiFE), where she handled international relations from 2012 to 2016. She also organized workshops and seminars for activists in Belarus and Ukraine through the International Federation of Liberal Youth (IFLRY).
Co-Founder of Momentum Movement
In 2015, Cseh co-founded the Momentum Youth Movement, which successfully campaigned against Budapest's bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics. The movement later became a political party in March 2017, and Cseh joined its executive board.
Parliamentary Career
2018 Parliamentary ElectionsCseh ran as a candidate in the 2018 parliamentary elections but did not win a seat. Subsequently, she resigned from the party leadership along with other members.
Election to European Parliament
In the 2019 European Parliament elections, Cseh was elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for Momentum. She was the first on the party list and was elected alongside Anna Donáth.
Vice-President of Renew Europe
Within the European Parliament, Cseh became one of the eight vice-presidents of the Renew Europe political group.
