Kathleen Hunt, the Novelist

Kathleen Hunt, an English novelist, adopted the pen name "Jota." She received a home education and moved to London at the age of 21.

Marriage and Travels

In 1879, she married Dr. Stephen Mannington Caffyn and accompanied him to Australia the following year. The couple resided in Sydney until 1883, when they relocated to Melbourne. Kathleen founded the District Nursing Society in Victoria.

The Caffyns returned to London in 1892, where Kathleen published her most significant works. Her novels include:
