Biography of Ken Olin
Kenneth Edward "Ken" Olin, an American actor, director, and producer, was born in 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, to a Jewish family. He received his education at the University of Pennsylvania. Olin made his debut in the television industry as an actor in the late 1970s, appearing in series such as "The Paper Chase" and "Hill Street Blues" for two seasons. In the 1980s, Olin ventured into various television projects and had a small role in the horror film "Ghost Story" in 1981. While continuing his acting career, Olin also began directing, starting with the television series "Thirtysomething" in 1992, followed by "Doing Time on Maple Drive" in the same year. He then transitioned to directing films for the big screen, such as "White Fang 2: Myth of the White Wolf." However, the majority of Olin's career has been in television.

In 1991, Olin appeared as Ray in the comedy-drama "Queens Logic" directed by Steve Rash. Throughout the 1990s, Olin continued to act in both television series and TV movies, playing lead roles in projects such as "Telling Secrets" in 1992 and "Nothing But the Truth" in 1995. In the same year, he directed the western film "In Pursuit of Honor." Olin's subsequent projects included series like "Felicity," "The West Wing," and "Alias," where he also appeared as an actor and producer. In 1997, he had a small role in the romantic comedy "Til There Was You" and played the main role in the thriller "Y2K" in 1999.

In 2003, Olin directed the television drama "Phenomenon II," a remake of the 1996 film "Phenomenon." However, the film received harsh criticism and was considered a rough draft for the upcoming picture. Gerald Di Pego wrote the screenplay for both the original film and its sequel. In 2006, Olin focused his talents on the television series "Brothers & Sisters," where he served as a director, producer, and portrayed the character David Kaplan.

Olin is married to actress Patricia Wettig, whom he met during the filming of "Thirtysomething." They have two children, a son named Clifford born in 1983 and a daughter named Roxanne born in 1985, who has followed in her parents' footsteps and appeared in the MTV series "The City."
