Andrew Chaikin, known professionally as Kid Beyond, was born and raised in the United States. He pursued his education at Brown University, where he showcased his musical talents as the leader of the university's a cappella group. After graduating in 1991, Chaikin moved to San Francisco, where he embarked on a successful career in the music industry.
House Jacks and Solo Career
In San Francisco, Chaikin co-founded the music group House Jacks with Deke Sharon. The band released two albums, "Naked Noise" and "Funkwich," before signing with Tommy Boy Records. Chaikin left House Jacks in 1997 and embarked on a solo career. In 2006, he released his debut solo EP, "Amplivate."
Live Looping and Technical Prowess
Kid Beyond is renowned for his mastery of live looping, a technique that involves using a laptop and various effects to create complex and immersive musical performances.
