Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland, known as Kiefer Sutherland, is a Canadian-born actor of film and theater. He is best known to English-speaking audiences for his role as super agent Jack Bauer in the TV series '24', where he regularly saves the USA and the Western world from the plots of terrorists. Sutherland has been nominated multiple times for prestigious television awards and has won an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and other accolades. He has his own stars on the Canadian and Hollywood Walks of Fame, and was once named one of the most influential people in the world by Forbes.

Early Life
Kiefer Sutherland was born in London, Ontario, Canada on December 21, 1966. His parents, Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, were popular Canadian actors, and his maternal grandfather, Tommy Douglas, was a well-known politician and leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada. In honor of the writer and director Warren Kiefer, also known as Lorenzo Sabatini, who directed his debut film, he was given his unusual name.

Career
Sutherland's career began in the early 1980s, and he quickly gained recognition as a talented actor. He made his film debut in 1983 in the movie 'Max Dugan Returns', which also starred his father. In 1986, he appeared in the film adaptation of Stephen King's novel 'Stand by Me', playing the role of Ace Merrill. Over the years, Sutherland's filmography has grown to include more than eighty works. Some of his most famous early roles include 'The Lost Boys' (1987) and 'Young Guns' (1988).

In 1992, he became engaged to Julia Roberts, his co-star in the film 'Flatliners', but the wedding was called off just days before the date. He later married Kelly Winn in 1996, but they divorced in 2008. Sutherland has struggled with alcohol addiction and has been arrested multiple times for drunk driving.
In addition to his acting career, Sutherland is a fan of the band Queen and collects vintage guitars. He also had a passion for rodeo and even owned a ranch in Montana. However, he suffered an injury during a rodeo event and broke three fingers. Despite his personal troubles, Sutherland continues to act in new roles, although none have reached the same level of popularity as Jack Bauer.
