Early Life and Education
Kim Shi-eun was born on January 19, 1999, in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Coming from a family with no artistic background, she didn't initially consider a creative career. However, her younger sister, Kim Da-eun, debuted as a model and later as a singer.
Shi-eun pursued education diligently, graduating from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul in 2020.
Acting Debut and Breakthrough
Before her major breakthrough in the 2022 psychological thriller "Next Sohee," Kim Shi-eun appeared in several television dramas, including "Inspector Koo," "At a Distance, Spring Is Green," and "Run On."
However, her role in "Next Sohee" marked a turning point in her career. She made her big-screen debut as Kim So-hee, a high school student interning at a call center who meets an untimely demise. Despite lacking formal acting training, Shi-eun's raw talent and emotional depth brought the character to life.
International Acclaim
"Next Sohee" premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, where it received a standing ovation lasting seven minutes. Critics lauded the film as a festival highlight and praised the cast's performances. Shi-eun garnered recognition as Best New Actress and won her first major award, the Baeksang Arts Award in Seoul.
Personal Life
Kim Shi-eun maintains a close connection with her fans through her YouTube vlog, which she started as a hobby. Her videos offer a glimpse into her daily life and reflect her vibrant personality. She prefers to keep her private life confidential, rarely sharing details about her romantic relationships.
Current Projects
