Biography of a Renowned Director

Early Life and Education

The renowned director, pedagogue, and Merited Artist of both the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (1985) and Ukraine (2016), began his artistic journey as the youngest Soviet actor to portray the iconic role of Chatsky in Aleksandr Griboyedov's "Woe from Wit." After graduating from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) under the esteemed tutelage of A. Goncharov, he joined the renowned Maly Theatre.

Theatre Career

From 1971 to 1975, he served as the Chief Director of the Gorky Theatre (now known as the Nizhny Novgorod Theatre). Subsequently, he moved to the Volgograd Theatre and later became a pedagogue at the Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television (KNUTKiT).

Artistic Director and Accolades

During his tenure as Artistic Director of the Kyiv Theatre on Lipki (1994-2010), he directed a remarkable repertoire of theatrical productions. His exceptional artistic vision and dedication earned him numerous accolades throughout his distinguished career.
