Daushvili made his film debut in 1931 and mostly worked at the "Georgia-Film" studio, playing a significant role in the establishment of Georgian cinema. It was here that he created memorable characters such as Trippili in Mikhail Chiaureli's historical epic "Georgy Saakadze," Mgelika in Shota Managadze's romantic drama "Khevsurian Ballad," and Zviad in Nikolay Sanishvili's musical comedy "Meeting in the Mountains," among others.

One of Daushvili's finest works was his portrayal of Grandfather Tsipikore in Tengiz Abuladze's drama "The Tree of Desire." His character was a custodian of ancestral memory, defending the immutable and ritualistic rules of the village's existence. However, when people appear whose behavior cannot be confined to the confines of the ancestral code, Tsipikore loses his power. Daushvili is also well-remembered by many film enthusiasts for his roles in Georgiy Daneliya's "Don't Grieve!" and "Mimino" (as the grandfather).
