The Ukrainian Osborne

In 1991, at the "Doggy Frost" festival, a Moscow metalhead witnessed the electrifying performance of a Ukrainian band led by an eccentric and enigmatic frontman. "This crazy ball of dough will devour anyone he wants!" the metalhead exclaimed. Thus, Sergey Romanov, known as S.E.R., earned the moniker "Ukrainian Osborne."

Early Years and Heavy Metal Roots

The original lineup of S.E.R.'s band, KPP, featured three Alexanders: Buкреев (bass), Yelenevich (guitar), and Antonov (guitar). Vitaly Bolkovitin completed the lineup on drums. Between 1988 and 1989, the band recorded two albums, "Never Old For Heavy Metal" and "Mechanism Malfunctioned," showcasing classic metal akin to Iron Maiden, Dio, and Judas Priest, with biting political lyrics.

Musical Transformation and Moscow Conquest

In the early 1990s, with political themes losing relevance, KPP sought a musical shift towards a more upbeat and comedic sound. They drew inspiration from Zodiac Mindwarp & Love Reaction, Kiss, Twisted Sister, Aerosmith, Skid Row, W.A.S.P., and Alice Cooper. Establishing connections in Moscow, the band began to captivate audiences in the Russian capital.

The Debauchery of "Bespredel"

In 1993, KPP released their debut album, "Bespredel," which encapsulated the atmosphere of unbridled rock-n-roll debauchery. Despite rumors, the band denied any involvement in blood drinking, cannibalism, or gun violence, but they did indulge heavily in alcohol and women.

Lineup Changes and "Fist in Your Jaws"

In 1995, the band released their second album, "Fist in Your Jaws, Axe in Your Skull." Recorded at Aria Records, the album featured a slightly heavier and more "heavy" sound. The lineup had changed again, with Vadim Shapronov on drums.

Final Years and Legacy

After 1997, KPP faded from the public eye. S.E.R. pursued various projects, including television shows and concert organization. In August 2006, he tragically passed away from thromboembolism at the age of 43.

S.E.R.'s legacy lives on through KPP's music, which continues to inspire and entertain generations of rock fans. His outlandish stage presence, powerful vocals, and infectious energy forever etched his name in the annals of rock history.
