Early Life and CareerBorn in the Nakhchivan ASSR to Azerbaijani parents, Yusif Mirbalabayevi embarked on his career as a sea driller in Baku in the 1940s. Soon, he rose through the ranks to become a drilling foreman and played a pivotal role in the discovery of the "Neft Dashlari" oil field.
Accomplishments
Mirbalabayevi's contributions to the oil industry gained recognition and accolades. In 1951, he received the Stalin Prize for his work in maritime oil drilling and discovery. In 1959, he was bestowed the Hero of Socialist Labor award. He was also elected as a deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, representing the Nakhchivan SSR.
Educational Background
Mirbalabayevi pursued higher education at the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute named after M. Azizbekov. His technical expertise enabled him to hold senior managerial positions within the oil industry.
Leadership Roles
Mirbalabayevi managed the marine exploration drilling trust and later became the head of the "Neft Dashlari" oil and gas production department. After that, he was appointed Director General of the "Caspmorneftegaz" Association in Baku.
Political Career
In 1989, Mirbalabayevi was elected as a People's Deputy of the USSR, representing the Illichiv National-Territorial Electoral District No. 619 of the Nakhchivan ASSR. He served on the Supreme Soviet Committee for Architecture and Construction.
