Biography of Kyan Douglas
Kyan Douglas is an American actor and stylist. He was born as Hugh Edward Douglas on May 5, 1970, in Miami, Florida, USA. His childhood was spent in the cities of Tampa and Tallahassee. After graduating from high school, Kyan moved to Dallas and began studying philosophy at Brookhaven College. During this time, he developed an interest in religion and the art of healing.

Later, the aspiring actor relocated to Austin and enrolled in the Texas University to study acting. However, he was soon expelled for lacking expressiveness and extreme shyness. Kyan Douglas then moved to New Orleans, where he pursued higher education in Television Production and Theatre Studies at Loyola University.

In 1996, Kyan experienced a devastating event when three of his friends were killed during a restaurant robbery. This tragedy led him to leave New Orleans.
In 1999, Douglas arrived in New York City where he found employment at the cosmetics company "Aveda." This company aided him in enrolling in the "Aveda Institute," a renowned hairdressing and styling school, which he successfully completed with top honors. Subsequently, he was hired as a colorist at the "Arrojo Studio." It was during this time that he made his television debut, working on shows such as "What Not to Wear" and "While You Were Out," while also contributing to "Child Magazine."
Since 2003, Kyan Douglas has made frequent television appearances, featuring on programs such as "Howard Stern," "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Barbara Walters Special," and "Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show," among others. He earned the nickname "The Grooming Guru." In the same year, he became a regular expert on the television show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and won an Emmy Award in 2004 for his participation in the show.
In 2004, Kyan Douglas gave a masterclass for young professionals at Loyola University, where he had previously studied. He also co-authored the book "Beautified" in the same year and became a consultant and representative for the company "L'Oreal."
In 2005, Kyan Douglas began studying Kundalini Yoga, further confirming his interest in religion and healing practices. In early 2009, he made his first acting appearance in the fourth episode of the television series "10 Years Younger." Currently, Kyan continues his creative pursuits in the industry.
