Biography of Laura Lang
Laura Lang is an American businesswoman who currently serves as the CEO of Time Inc. She has had an impressive career in the business world, previously serving as the CEO of the international brand agency Digitas.
Early Life and Education
Laura Lang was born and raised in Warwick, Rhode Island. She pursued her education at Tufts University, where she earned her undergraduate degree. She then went on to attend the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and obtained her MBA.
Career
Lang began her career at Quaker Oats Co., followed by positions at Bristol-Myers and Pfizer Pharmaceutical Co. She later became the Senior Vice President and Head of the Yankelovich Clancy Shulman division. Afterward, she served as the President of Marketing Corp. of America, where she specialized in consulting on strategic business matters.
In 1999, Lang joined Digitas, a prominent marketing agency. She initially managed the company's New York branch and later became the CEO of the North American division in 2004. In 2008, Lang was appointed as the CEO of Digitas. Under her leadership, Digitas experienced significant growth, doubling its revenue and establishing strong relationships with valuable clients.
Lang's exceptional leadership skills did not go unnoticed. In 2007, Advertising Age listed her as one of the "Women to Watch," and BtoB Magazine recognized her in their "Who's Who" list in 2006, 2007, and 2009.
Currently, Lang serves on the board of advisors of the Tufts University Entrepreneurial Leadership Program, where she contributes to the development of future leaders and entrepreneurs. She is also a member of the board of directors of Benchmark Electronics and Nutrisystem.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Lang is actively involved in charitable projects. She holds the position of Chair in The One Hundred committee, which sponsors the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. Through her involvement, Lang raises awareness about cancer-related issues and supports advancements in oncology as a medical discipline.
