Lena Hall, born Selina Consuela Gabriella Carvajal on January 30, 1980, in San Francisco, California, began her artistic journey at a young age with dance and theatre at the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts. Her debut performance before a vast audience occurred at Candlestick Park, where she sang for Pope John Paul II in 1987. After graduating from high school, Hall made her Broadway debut in the musical "Cats" in 1999, followed by roles in "42nd Street" and the national tour of "Annie Get Your Gun."

Breakthrough with "Kinky Boots":

Hall's breakthrough came in 2013 when she originated the role of Nicola in the Tony Award-winning musical "Kinky Boots." Her performance earned her a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical. In the same year, she released her band The Deafening's debut album, "Central Booking."

"Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and Gender-Bending Triumph:
