In 1965, Lily remarried, this time to a Brazilian businessman named Freddy Monte Verde. Unfortunately, this marriage also ended shortly as her husband committed suicide in 1969. In 1976, Lily entered into a marriage with Edmond Safra, a renowned banker known to the world. In 1999, Edmond Safra, who had long suffered from Parkinson's disease, tragically died from a gunshot during a burglary at their Monaco apartment. Experts believed that the cause of his death was due to the actions of a nurse who was constantly caring for the ailing magnate. This nurse was eventually charged in 2002.
