Biography of Lionella Pyreva (Skirda)

Lionella Skirda was born on March 15, 1938, in Moscow. She graduated from the A.V. Lunacharsky State Institute of Theatrical Arts in 1961 and was accepted into the troupe of the K.S. Stanislavsky Dramatic Theater. She worked there until 1964, after which she moved to the Cinema Actor Studio Theater.

Acting Career

Skirda made her film debut in 1961 with a small role in the musical film "Free Wind" directed by Leonid Trauberg and Andrei Tutishkin. She then appeared in the adventure film "Shot in the Fog" and the musical film "Melodies of Dunaevsky". In 1964, she played the lead role in the famous director Ivan Pyreva's film "The Light of a Distant Star".

Marriage to Ivan Pyreva

Ivan Pyreva was 37 years older than Lionella and was in love with the young and charming actress Lyudmila Marchenko. He even divorced his second wife, Marina Ladynina, for her. However, Marchenko did not reciprocate Pyreva's feelings, which Lionella took advantage of. In 1967, she married Pyreva and took his surname.

Collaboration with Ivan Pyreva

In the same year, Pyreva began the film adaptation of F.M. Dostoevsky's novel "The Brothers Karamazov". He entrusted the lead female role to his new wife. However, Pyreva did not live to finish his film. He passed away in February 1968. The filming was completed by the main actors Kirill Lavrov and Mikhail Ulyanov.

Second Marriage and Later Career

After her husband's death, Lionella Pyreva married the popular actor Oleg Strizhenov, whom she admitted to loving since her youth. Interestingly, she became Strizhenov's third wife, as he had previously been married to actresses Marianne Strizhenova and Lyubov Zemlyanikina. In 1969, Lionella Pyreva appeared in the adventure film "Dangerous Tour" and the detective film "The Master of the Taiga". She then disappeared from the screens for many years.

In the following decades, she played only a few roles, including Countess Kruglaya in the drama "The Last Victim" based on A. Ostrovsky's play (1976), the lead roles in the musical comedy "Free Wind" (1983), the film "Mr. Great Novgorod" (1984), and the historical adventure film "Not Subject to Disclosure" (1987).
