Meeting at Pacific Shores Hospital
Lizzy Elsberg and Chris Glasgow, a former anorexic and a sufferer of obesity, respectively, met at the Pacific Shores Hospital for eating disorders in Oxnard, California. Lizzy was undergoing a recovery program for anorexia, while Chris was fighting against obesity. Lizzy's weight reached a critical point of 40 kg, and Chris was struggling with his 220 kg.
Finding Love in Each Other
Both Lizzy and Chris were on the edge – doctors warned them that if they didn't stop their respective conditions immediately, there was a direct threat to their lives. Fate brought Chris and Lizzy together in the same clinic, where, in addition to their miraculous recovery, they also encountered another surprise – they met each other. Lizzy and Chris first saw each other in August 2012, and later Lizzy confessed that this huge guy scared her at first – she couldn't understand how someone could eat to such a size. However, she got to know Chris better, and over time, she started to like him more and more. Interestingly, Chris admitted that he initially believed Lizzy was just making fun of him and that there could be no friendship between them. Chris's excess weight, as one can guess, didn't give him confidence, and he was convinced that no girl in the world could find him attractive, especially someone as beautiful as Lizzy. However, Chris was proven wrong – they started dating in January 2013, and soon after, Lizzy and Chris got engaged. The engagement took place in a park near the clinic – it was there that Chris got down on one knee and asked the beautiful Lizzy to be his wife.
Life Together
Chris and Lizzy moved in together in Lizzy's hometown of Lorton, Virginia. Despite the shock from their families due to this unusual choice, they felt good and comfortable together. They helped each other cope, as they both had many questions about their bodies, and to avoid their bodies playing cruel tricks on them again, they had to be constantly vigilant. During the time they spent together, Chris lost about 35 kg, while Lizzy gained some weight and now weighs a record-breaking 57 kg. Chris admits that before Lizzy, food, preferably fatty food, was the love of his life, and he lived by indulging himself deeper into obesity. Today, Chris still has some excess weight, but he has already overcome the main barrier – his weight has started to decrease. Everything else is a matter of time, willpower, and diet. As for Lizzy, in her previous photos, she appeared as a girl with sharp shoulders, a lack of chest, and a helpless, fragile body. Today, Lizzy is a true beauty with a great figure, long blonde hair, and a confident gaze of a woman who knows her beauty. It is known that the struggle with weight is a very challenging task, so sometimes Lizzy has to give ultimatums to Chris.
The Future
Next summer, the couple plans to have their wedding, which they both would like to be in a rustic style. Interestingly, Lizzy's mother, while having a good relationship with Chris, advises her daughter not to rush into marriage – she believes that they should live together for a longer time and get to know each other better.
