Laura Ellen Ziskin was an American producer, screenwriter, and actress. She was born on March 3, 1950, in San Fernando, California, USA. Laura's ancestors were Russian Jews, and her grandfather immigrated to the United States from Russia in 1917.

Career
In 1978, Laura began her career as a producer. Throughout her career, she produced around 30 projects, including two Academy Awards ceremonies in 2002 and 2007. She also worked as a screenwriter and wrote scripts for two films, "What About Bob?" (1991) and "Hero" (1992).
Personal Life
Laura Ziskin was married twice and had one child. Her first husband was Julian Barry, and they had a daughter named Julia Barry. Her second husband was Elvin Sargent (1927-2019), a screenwriter. They were married from 2010 until Laura's death.
Death
Laura Ziskin passed away on June 12, 2011, in Santa Monica, California, USA, at the age of 61. She had been battling breast cancer for seven years.
