Louis Fan: A Prodigy of Martial Arts and FilmLouis Fan, born Fan Siu-wong on June 19, 1973, inherits his passion for both cinema and martial arts from his renowned father, Fan Mei Sheng. At just two or three years old, Louis made his acting debut in his father's film. This early experience sparked his love for the screen and inspired him to pursue martial arts training.
At the age of 14, Louis embarked on a rigorous journey to master gymnastics, wushu, taekwondo, and kung fu in Xuzhou. Immersed in the world of combat, he honed his skills and developed an exceptional level of physical discipline.
Stardom in Martial Arts Films
Upon his return to the film industry, Louis's exceptional talent received recognition in the breakout role in "Warriors of the Stone Age." This paved the way for his portrayal as Ricky in the live-action adaptation of the violent manga "Ricky-Oh."
Throughout the 1990s, Louis established himself as a rising star in martial arts films. He collaborated with renowned mentors, including his father, Korean presidential bodyguard Hwang Chang-li, and top judoka and taekwondo master, among others.

Louis's first American project was "Extraction," where he teamed up with Steven Seagal to dismantle a human trafficking cartel in Thailand. Notably, he described "Dangerous Hong Kong" (aka "Moss") as one of his most impactful works, portraying a homeless, schizophrenic character who believes his deceased mother is still alive.
In 2008, Louis's performance as villain Jin Shanzhao in the critically acclaimed biographical film "Ip Man" earned him a Hong Kong Film Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He later reprised his role in the film's sequel.
Personal Life and Family
Louis was in a relationship with fellow actor Cecelia Siu Ha-chan from 1996 to 2002, resulting in a daughter and a son, Alan.
In 2016, he married actress Jia Xiaochen, also known as JJ Jia Yi Fanfatumai. Together, they have two daughters born in 2017 and 2020.
