Early Life and Karting

Luciano Burti was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and began his racing career in karting.

Junior Championships

In 1995, Burti moved to Formula Vauxhall and joined Paul Stewart Racing in 1997, winning the championship. He achieved third place in the 1998 British Formula 3 and became vice-champion in 1999.

Formula 1 Debut with Jaguar

In 2000, Burti became Jaguar's test driver and made his Formula 1 debut at the Austrian Grand Prix, finishing tenth.

Stint with Jaguar and Prost

Following Johnny Herbert's retirement, Burti signed as a main driver for Jaguar. However, after four unsuccessful races, he was traded to Prost in exchange for Pedro de la Rosa.

Accidents and Injuries

At Prost, Burti had a turbulent season. He crashed into Michael Schumacher at the German Grand Prix and collided with Eddie Irvine at the Belgian Grand Prix, resulting in a concussion and ending his season.

Test Driver for Ferrari

In 2002, Burti became a test driver for Ferrari.
Post-Formula 1 Career

Since 2005, Burti has competed in the Brazilian Stock Car Championship.
