Biography of Luck Mervil
Actor, SingerLuck Mervil, an actor and singer, was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 1968. At the age of four, he moved to New York City with his mother, as his father was involved in a limousine sales company. However, it was in Quebec, Canada where Luck would begin his career in the entertainment industry.
Rudeluck
In 1987, Luck and his friend Rudy Tussen formed the musical group Rudeluck. In 1992, the band participated in the "L'Empire des Futures Stars" festival and emerged as winners. The following year, Rudeluck released their first album, also titled Rudeluck. In 1994, the band achieved tremendous success at the "Francofolies de Montreal" and the summer festival in Quebec. It was at the Francofolies festival that Luck met Luke Plamondon.
Success in France
In 1994, Rudeluck performed at the "Printemps de Bourges" and "Francofolies de la Rochelle" concerts in France. Luck experienced two trips to France in 1995, releasing the album Rudeluck (Air Musik/Polygram) there. In 1996, Luck released his solo English-language album and returned to Canada.
Notre-Dame de Paris and Move to London
In 1997, Luck participated in the "Fete du Canada" and the gala show "Francofetes" in Montreal, which gained popularity in all French-speaking countries. He also received a role in the project "Sauve qui peut" in Quebec and portrayed Clopin in Luc Plamondon's musical, "Notre-Dame de Paris." After participating in the original production of the musical, Luck joined the English version and moved to London in 2000.
Solo Career and Film
In the same year, Luck released his second solo French-language album, "Luck Mervil." Currently, he continues to pursue his solo career, performs with Rudeluck, participates in various shows (including one in Ottawa dedicated to Luke Plamondon and a show with Celine Dion), and also has acted in movies.
