Early Life and Education

Malkhaz Aslamazašvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. He graduated with a degree in Drama Directing from the Shota Rustaveli State Theatre Institute of Tbilisi, where his mentor was Mikhail Ivanovich Tumanishvili.

Career in Theatre and Television

Aslamazašvili initially worked as a stage director in various theatres and for Georgian television. He directed over 30 theatrical productions and was instrumental in the creation of the first Georgian television series, "The House in the Old District," which premiered in 1993.

Film Accolades

Aslamazašvili's talents as a screenwriter and director were recognized with numerous accolades. In 1997, his documentary "Behind the Wall is Autumn" won the INPUT-97 Telekino Festival in Nantes, France. Three years later, he received a special prize from the Moscow government for his short film "Who's the Ghost?" at the "Together 2000" film festival.

In 2002, Aslamazašvili won a competition for the best screenplay for a television series. Two years later, director D. Janelidze adapted his script into the film "Atagenus," in which Aslamazašvili played the lead role of Fabian.

Acting Career

Aslamazašvili also pursued a successful acting career. In 2006, he portrayed Lavrentiy Beria in the television series "Stalin. Live." His other notable roles include the Georgian toastmaster in the 2007 film "Women's Friendship."
